The unreleased mystery song recorded in 1978 is finally out now!
Loved by fans the world over, ABBA, are famous for their songs like Dancing Queen and Waterloo. Embarking on a virtual tour, the Swedish pop group are treating their beloved fans to a new album, Voyage. The group has released three songs that have kept the audience glued to their devices worldwide, waiting to hear more about the album.
What has caught the internet by storm recently, is a song that was recorded way back in the late 1970s. Available to the public from October 22, Just a Notion is one of the ABBA treasures from the past.
Björn’s comments on Just on Notion
A good song with great vocals was how Björn Ulvaeus described the song. When questioned about the song’s release, Björn commented saying, “‘Just a Notion’ is a ridiculously happy song and hopefully it will cheer you up in these dark times!”
He also added that the song was recorded in the year 1978 and was to be added to the album Voulez Vous. However, they decided against it.
After playing it to a publisher in France and a couple of other people whom they trusted. They liked it very much. However, Björn claims it will always be a mystery as to why the group didn’t go ahead and release it during that time.
Mike Anderson directed the video filming. Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus wrote as well as produced this classic.
A teaser of the song has been featured on TikeTok in the last few days and has received over one million views.
The original vocals of the song Just a Notion that was recorded in 1978 have been retained. The group has added updated instrumentals like the drums and guitars to the vocal track. This only shows what the group, plan on doing for the ABBA Voyage tour.
The day of virtual tour is drawing near
The digital version of the ABBA band alongside a live band will begin their tour on May 27, 2022.
ABBA’s new album Voyage will officially be out on November 5th, 2021, with additional tickets on sale on the abba voyage website.
